Case Study: WAPL.info

We mobilised WAPL.info using WAPL to show you just how easy it is.

How could we present you with WAPL without having mobilised its own website?

This case study shows just how easy it is to plug WAPL in to an existing website, making use of exactly the same business logic, data, validation etc.

The first job was replicating the page layout in WAPL. By giving our elements the appropriate classes and ids and using the same CSS as the plain old computer site, we were able to create a very similar looking site in minutes.

Of course, designing for mobile is different to designing for the computer browser, so there were some tweaks to be made.

We stripped out unnecessary styling images to make the page load quicker, removed some links that are of little use on a mobile device, and removed some bulk from the home page.

We even wrote some tweaks to our code highlighting engine to make it output WAPL. Check out one of the code examples in the docs to see it in action.

Check out the contact form as well. This is a perfect example of using existing logic and validation rules to migrate a site to mobile.
